Parti Keadilan Rakyat’s promise of a new dawn for Malaysia

February 26, 2008

It’s ceramah time and i was naturally curious to see and hear for myself what the political parties will be ‘offering’ Malaysians.

zorro, Tony Yew and yours truly attended lawyer-politician Wee Choo Keong’s debut rally for this 12th GE at Taman Setapak Indah two nights ago. Rocky of the ever-increasing-hits Rocky’s Bru blog finally couldn’t make it, though he was already on his way. Our guide for direction to him over the mobile amidst the booms of the loudspeakers was probably to blame. Very sorry, lah, Rocky. A thousand apologies.

Wee Choo Keong is contesting for the Wangsa Maju parliamentary seat with PKR’s ticket. Here are Wee’s own words telling us why he made up his mind to take this route:

To avoid any 3-corner clash, it’s confirmed I’ll be vying for the Wangsa Maju parliamentary seat in Wilayah Persekutuan under the umbrella of Parti Keadilan Rakyat. PKR’s stand against social injustice is similar to that of MDP’s (Malaysians Democratic Party) and that makes us friends with a common mission.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to PKR – especially Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim who has unselfishly given me this golden opportunity to represent PKR and the rakyat in Wangsa Maju.

You can also go to Wee Choo Keong’s blogsite which he has set up for his election campaign to read more, here.

As for me, my first ceramah for the 12th GE was a real eye-opener. i can sense the hearts and minds of Malaysians are undergoing a change for the better. We did not care about the colour of our skin and when we connected and engaged we were of one heart and mind.

We seemed to agree that the unmaking of the rakyat and the country was the fault of the previous administration. The rakyat had been taken for a ride for too long and the mood was a re-sounding ‘enough is enough.’ BN should be worried.

At the ceramah, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (People’s Justice Party) was also distributing their summarised 5-point manifesto printed on artcards to reinforce their message to the people of Wangsa Maju and all Malaysians throughout the length and breadth of the country.

The version that i have is in Bahasa Malaysia and i have featured it here for your perusal …
