Police are waiting for the pathology test on urine samples obtained from a drug bust at a Puchong condominium over the weekend.
A total of 17 people were arrested during the drug bust, including Dengkil assemblyperson Adhif Syan Abdullah.
Bukit Aman Narcotic Crimes Investigation Department director Mohd Khalil Kader Mohd (photo) said even if an initial drug test conducted by police returned positive, they still need the pathology test results for confirmation.
Police had said previously that 16 out of 17 people detained had tested positive for drugs.
“We’re now waiting for the pathology report. In all cases involving drugs, we will conduct a preliminary test and even if it is positive, we can’t say they are drug addicts,” Khalil told a press conference at the Selangor police contingent headquarters in Shah Alam today.
Adhif, who is also the Selangor Bersatu Youth chief, had initially denied he was arrested but later said he was “at the wrong place and at the wrong time.”
Khalil said everyone has the right to make comments on social media.
“Is it true he wasn’t there? We don’t know what is said on Facebook. Anyone can make their comments but it has nothing to do with the police,” he said.
