UPDATED: March 11, 2020 – According to SR’s report above dated 10 March regarding the atmosphere of the Fri, 21 Feb PH Presidential Council meeting –  “… Bersatu MPs confessed to Sarawak Report that they were astonished at the largely cordial nature of the occasion: “We were expecting a horrible meeting on Friday pushing Tun to resign. But it was a happy meeting and no pressure.””

1. Fri, 21 Feb 1) PH Presidential Council (PHPC) holds meeting to have Dr Mahathir states date of handover of power to Anwar Ibrahim. At the end of the  fiery meeting PHPC unanimously agrees Dr M continues as PM until after APEC summit which will be held in Nov. After that date Dr M decides when to hand over power to Anwar.
2. Sat, 22 Feb 1) Dr M declares PHPC had unanimously agreed: “I can stay on as long as I want, no conditions, nothing.”
2) PAS drops 8 Feb idea of ‘vote of confidence’ on Dr M as PM.
3. Sun, 23 Feb 1) Bersatu, Umno, GPS hold separate meetings fuelling speculation of formation of backdoor govt. (GPS MPs arrive at a hotel at 1.30 p.m. for 2.00 p.m. meeting.)
2) Dr M chairs Bersatu meeting which concludes at about 2.55 p.m. (Reason meeting is held is bec there is talk Anwar is plotting to topple Dr M as PM.)
3) Dr M’s motorcade enters Istana gate at about 5.30 p.m. with Bersatu, Umno, PAS, GPS, Warisan chiefs and PKR Azmin Ali to meet Agong.
4) Azmin Ali holds dinner meeting at Sheraton Hotel in PJ. Dr M is to announce the formation of a new coalition calls ‘Perikatan Nasional’ – but Dr M does not attend and goes home instead.
5) Umno leaders tell reporters the Harapan coalition has fallen and they back Dr M for prime minister.
6) Anwar says in Facebook broadcast he has been betrayed.
7) PAS Hadi Awang, PKR Azmin Ali, GPS leader Abang Johari Openg, GPS Fadillah Yusuf, Umno Ahmad Zahid and Bersatu Muhyiddin go to Dr M house and press him for final agreement to their demands. (Warisan is not involved in this high-pressure meeting which almost brings Dr M to tears.) Ahmad Zahid wants Dr M to agree on the spot to accept Umno en bloc and appoint Umno MPs to high positions in his Cabinet.
4. Mon, 24 Feb 1) Dr M resigns as PM.
2) PKR Anwar and Wan Azizah, DAP Lim Guan Eng and Amanah Mat Sabu meet Dr M individually at his house, after finding him not at PMO. (At the time Dr M is on his way to PMO but makes a U-turn after learning of the entourage wanting to meet him.) In tears, Dr M confesses to Anwar and other Pakatan coalition partners that he no longer has his own party’s support and was not behind the moves to partner with Umno,
3) PKR, DAP hold emergency meetings.
4) PKR sacks Azmin and Zuraidah – both left PKR with 9 other PKR MPs.
5) Muhyiddin announces Bersatu is pulling out of Pakatan Harapan coalition.
6) Dr M resigns as Chairman of Bersatu.
7) Dr M meets Agong. Advises Agong to dissolve Pakatan Harapan Cabinet. Agong appoints Dr M as Interim PM.
8) Stock market closes lowest since 2011.
5. Tue, 25 Feb 1) Bersatu, DAP, PKR, Amanah, Umno, PAS chiefs, Azmin Ali takes turn to meet Dr M at PMO.
2) Agong begins ‘interview’ of all 222 MPs – completes first batch of 83 MPs.
3) PH holds emergency Presidential Council meeting and invites Dr M to chair it. Dr M declines to attend saying he no longer wants to be involved.
4) PH sticks together; BN, PAS and Bersatu calls for snap election.
6. Wed, 26 Feb 1) Agong interviews remaining MPs, except one who is absent – Nazri Aziz who is overseas.
2) Dr M holds news conference and proposes ‘Unity Government.’
3) PH nominates Anwar Ibrahim as candidate for PM.
7. Thur, 27 Feb 1) PH and Bersatu agree to keep Kedah state govt status quo.
2) Bersatu joins forces with BN and PAS for new Johor state govt. PH claims deadlock.
3) Dr M returns as Bersatu Chairman – announces Parliament will meet Monday to resolve crisis.
4) Dr M announces Corvid-19 economic stimulus package.
8. Fri, 28 Feb 1) Dr M arrives at Al-Bukhary Foundation at 9.12 a.m. to meet with Bersatu MPs. First to arrive is Beluran MP Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee.
2) Azmin Ali and Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin; PKR Youth deputy chief Muhammad Hilman Idham also join meeting with Dr M at Al-Bukhary Foundation.
3) Conference of Rulers convenes.
4) Dewan Rakyat Speaker Mohamad Ariff says “No” to Monday Parliament sitting – Agong assents.
5) Agong asserts no MP has clear majority support found – calls for parties to nominate candidate for PM.
6) Azmin Ali and faction join Bersatu.
7) Bersatu, BN, PAS and PBRS nominate Muhyiddin as candidate for PM.
8) PH maintains Anwar as candidate for PM.
9) Sultan of Johor appoints Johor Umno Chief as new MB under Bersatu, BN and PAS state govt.
10) Dr M’s daughter Marina convinces him to meet with PH leaders to talk.
9. Sat, 29 Feb 1) After meeting Dr M, PH announces change to nominate Dr M as candidate for PM – Dr M confident he has majority support.
2) All party leaders and MPs meet Agong and submit names of candidates for PM.
3) Muhyiddin declares he’s Bersatu Chairman – Bersatu sec-gen Marzuki Yahaya disagrees claiming Dr M is still Bersatu Chairman.
4) Istana announces at about 4.30 p.m. Muhyiddin to be sworn in as 8th PM on Sunday morning at 10.30 a.m.
5) Dr M claims Agong does not want to meet him.
6) Dr M publishes full list of names of 114 MPs who pledge support for him to be candidate for PM.
10. Sun, 1 Mar 1) Muhyiddin takes oath as 8th PM.
